The Mesopotamia Women Journalists Association (MKG) released its November Report on Human Rights Violations Against Women Journalists. The report noted an increase in cases of detention, investigation, prosecution, threats, and digital violence against journalists. MKG emphasized that journalists’ professional activities fall under freedom of expression, yet they are being prosecuted, and that pressure intensifies particularly during periods of political tension. The report also drew attention to the suspicious death of journalist Dilan Karaman and called for an effective investigation. It was reported that one journalist was detained, three journalists were imprisoned, and numerous journalists were prosecuted in November.
