Mesopotamia Women Journalists Association (MKG) announced in its July report that pressures against women journalists continued. According to the report, 1 journalist was detained, 3 journalists were called to testify, 2 journalists were investigated. While 24 journalists are on trial, 5 women journalists are still under arrest. Ajansa Welat’s social media account was shut down. MKG described the KCK Press Trial as a “shame trial” and emphasized that journalism cannot be put on trial.
