The Ministry of Treasury and Finance announced that journalist Güzem Yılmaz Ertem’s allegations about investor meetings are “baseless and distorted” and that legal proceedings will be initiated against her.
In a statement on the X platform, the Ministry said that the information put forward by Oksijen writer Ertem regarding the investor meetings held by Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek in London last week, which were closed to the press, did not reflect the truth.
The statement emphasized that senior figures from BNP Paribas and the Turkish Economy Bank attended the meeting and that the allegations could also be refuted by these people.
Minister Mehmet Şimşek also quoted the post and said, “We are tired of making denials, while others have not stopped making baseless allegations.”
Journalist Güzem Yılmaz Ertem has not yet made a statement on the issue.
