Actor Meli Bendeli was arrested as part of an “obscenity” investigation over social media posts. In the investigation coordinated by the Kızılcahamam Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, Ankara police carried out simultaneous operations against seven people in five provinces. Five people, including Bendeli and singer Tuğba Ekinci, were detained. Police said the suspects shared images alleged to be “obscene” for payment through a private membership system. Four of the five people referred to court, including Bendeli, were arrested and one was placed under judicial control. The investigation was conducted under Article 226 of the Turkish Penal Code.
