IHD Istanbul Branch sent a letter to the Ministry of Justice demanding the release of Hatice Onaran, an ill prisoner in Gebze M Type Prison. Onaran was sentenced to 4 years and 2 months in prison on charges of “financing an illegal organization”. IHD stated that no evidence was presented for the accusation and that her detention is against the law and conscience. In the statement, it was stated that the latest judicial package did not meet expectations and that the exclusion of aggravated life prisoners violates the principle of equality. All political parties called for regulation in line with human rights
