A lawsuit was filed against 20 people based on X posts made on the day the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency was dismissed and replaced by an interim board headed by Gürsel Tekin.
Following the decision of Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance on September 2, the charges of “public incitement to commit crime” and “public incitement to hatred and hostility” were brought against the posts.
Fatoş Erdoğan, YouTuber Ebru Oruç and academic Emrah Gülsunar were among the defendants.
The indictment demands prison sentences from six months to five years.
The hearing will be held on November 5th.
