On the evening of October 10, ecologist and journalist Hakan Tosun was beaten on his way to his family in Esenyurt, Istanbul.
Tosun was found unconscious after being hit on the head and it was announced that he had a brain hemorrhage and was intubated in intensive care.
Two people detained in connection with the incident were arrested.
Lawyer Hakan Bozyurt from the Association of Contemporary Lawyers said, “His condition is critical, we will follow the judicial process.”
His sister Öznur Tosun said, “When we filed a missing person application, they thought to take fingerprints and that’s how he was found. 36 hours have passed and still no one is in charge.”
