A lawsuit was filed against the protest of TEKEL workers, who were fired following privatization, organized ten years ago in Ankara. The first hearing of the lawsuit will be held on June 27th at Ankara 7th Criminal Court of First Instance. 19 workers are charged with “organizing, managing and participating in illegal meetings and demonstrations” within the lawsuit. The protests started on December 15, 2009 and lasted for about three months.
