A lawsuit has been filed against Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel, Acting Director of Public Works Engin Okay, and former Director of Public Works Fatma Çanakçı on charges of “abuse of office.” The indictment prepared by the Kuşadası Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office was accepted by the Criminal Court of First Instance.
The defendants face prison sentences ranging from 6 months to 2 years on allegations that the pier and sunbathing terraces built on the shore were constructed without a zoning plan. The defendants denied the allegations.
