Yüksel Koç, former co-chair of the Congress of Democratic Societies of Kurdistan in Europe (KCDK-E), was arrested by the court after being detained in Bremen, Germany. The court issued an arrest warrant for Koç in accordance with Article 129b of the German Penal Code on “membership in an illegal organization”.
While Koç was sent to Bremen Prison, his lawyers stated that they will appeal the decision as political. Koç has been under surveillance by German security services since 2016 and the main hearing will be held at the Hamburg Higher State Court.
