The Mardin Governorate banned the performance of the Kurdish play Tartuffe, which was planned to be staged by the Amed City Theater on December 5, citing the “protest and demonstration ban”, which was extended for another 15 days in the province. The Governorate also prevented the Health Workers’ Union from hanging banners on resignations, citing the same decision. The Governorate had announced the protest and demonstration ban “on the grounds of pandemic”. Two days after this incident, the Governorate allowed another theater play to be staged, this time in Turkish.
