In Hatay Samandağ, construction workers who allegedly drank alcohol in the park near the Tomb of Hızır, disturbed the environment and pulled a knife on those who reacted, and the tension grew when a person was stabbed in four places. While the wounded person was hospitalized, 4 suspects were detained and the knife wielder was arrested. On social media, a video with the phrase “Hatay was also included in Kurdistan” was associated with the incident, triggering racist comments. Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ described the incident as “a clash between Samandağ residents and DEM members”. CHP Hatay Deputy Servet Mullaoğlu criticized the employment of “criminal types” in TOKİ constructions and said they would not allow the brotherhood in the region to be disrupted.
