In the lawsuit filed against journalist Mehmet Şah Oruç due to “illegal organization membership” and “making illegal organization propaganda”, the court ruled for the continuation of judicial control conditions.
In the hearing held at Bitlis 2nd High Criminal Court, the prosecutor’s office demanded the continuation of judicial control.
Defending lawyer Resul Temur stated that Oruç was being tried only for his journalistic activities and asked for the judicial control to be lifted.
The court adjourned the hearing to January 20, 2026, arguing that the ban on leaving the country was proportionate.
