Journalists were barred from attending a press conference held at Van Yüzüncü Yıl University to discuss the disappearance of Rojin Kabaiş. By order of the Van Governor’s Office, members of the press and civil society representatives were not allowed onto the campus. DEM Party Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları, HDK Co-Spokesperson Meral Danış Beştaş, Rojin Kabaiş’s family, and civil society organizations in the city wanted to attend the statement. While intensive security measures were taken around the campus, many students continued to wait in the area.
