On June 2, police intervened against a crowd gathered at Güvenpark in Ankara to mark the 13th anniversary of the Gezi Resistance and to commemorate Ethem Sarısülük. During the intervention, police beat Sema Bingöl, a reporter for the Mezopotamya Agency who was covering the commemoration, and took her into custody. Participants in the commemoration protested the intervention and the violence against journalists.
