JINNEWS News Director Öznur Değer was released at the first hearing of the trial in which she was arrested on charges of “spreading terrorist organization propaganda”. During the hearing held at Mardin 2nd Assize Court, Değer made her defense via SEGBİS and stated that she was targeted because she was a woman journalist. The prosecution demanded her release on charges of propaganda. The court ruled for her release on the condition of judicial control and a ban on leaving the country. The next hearing will be held on October 21.
