An indictment was issued against journalist Furkan Karabay, who has been under arrest for 114 days.
The charges of “insulting the President”, “targeting people who took part in the fight against terrorism” and “insulting a public official because of his duty” were brought against Karabay based on his broadcasts on YouTube channel Alan and his social media posts.
The indictment demands a prison sentence of 6 to 15 years for the journalist.
Karabay was detained from his home on the morning of May 15 and arrested the same day. The indictment was prepared 114 days later.
