Ankara 42nd Civil Court of First Instance requested the files of the Istanbul congress to be sent as part of the lawsuit filed for the annulment of the CHP’s 38th Ordinary Assembly and 21st Extraordinary Assembly.
Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance annulled the CHP Istanbul Provincial Congress held on October 8, 2023, dismissed provincial chair Özgür Çelik and his administration, and appointed Gürsel Tekin and a four-member committee as the provisional board.
Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç stated that this decision could affect the CHP congress case to be held on September 15. The Ankara court asked Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance and 72nd Criminal Court of First Instance to send the relevant files.
