Journalist Fatih Altaylı was arrested after being detained for allegedly “threatening the President” in a speech on his YouTube channel. In his police interrogation, Altaylı argued that he knew President Erdoğan personally and that he did not intend to threaten or insult him, adding that he had commented on a survey and historical examples in his broadcast. Altaylı, who was arrested by the court after his statement to the prosecutor’s office, stated that the people have historically cared about having the right to control the administration.
