Journalist and writer Enver Aysever was arrested for statements he made on his YouTube channel. An investigation was launched against Aysever on charges of “inciting the public to hatred and hostility or insulting them.” Aysever was taken into custody late at night and transferred to Küçükçekmece Courthouse, where he was arrested by the court upon the prosecutor’s request. Aysever was sent to Marmara Prison in Silivri. The Turkish Journalists’ Union reacted to the arrest decision and called for Aysever’s release.
