Thirteen members of the SOL Party, who were under investigation for slogans chanted during the Independence March held in Istanbul on May 17, gave their statements on May 21. The prosecution accused the party members of glorifying a crime and a criminal, as well as spreading organizational propaganda. The SOL Party members, however, rejected the charges, stating that the slogans had anti-imperialist content.
