Disciplinary proceedings were initiated against 25 students after the Ali İsmail Korkmaz commemoration organized on May 16 at Ankara University’s Gölbaşı Campus. The Rectorate deemed the painting on the campus wall during the event as a “crime”. Students were sent an invitation to present their defense. Social media posts about the brawl with security during the event were also subject to investigation. Students expressed their reactions by saying “Commemorating Ali İsmail is not a crime!”
