An investigation was launched against Mezopotamya Agency reporter Dilgeş Ruvanas for “inciting the public to hatred and hostility” after she reported on tree felling in Şırnak under military supervision. Ruvanas gave a statement at the Cizre Gendarmerie District Police Station and denied the charges. Stating that social media and news content is meant to inform the public, Ruvanas said, “Judge those who cut down the trees, not me.”
