An investigation was launched against journalist Dilan Babat on charges of “publicly disseminating misleading information” for her news report on the suspicious death of Rojin Kabaiş. As part of the investigation launched by the Van Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, Babat testified at the Diyarbakır Courthouse with her lawyer. Stating that the information in the news article were “allegations that need to be investigated”, Babat said, “I did not give misleading information to the public at a time when massacres of women are on the rise.” His lawyer emphasized that the news is an allegation.
