Journalist Faruk Arhan announced that he was summoned to testify within the scope of the investigation launched by the Gaziantep Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on the charge of “inciting the people towards hatred and hostility” (in accordance with Article 216 of the Turkish Criminal Code) due to his social media posts. The posts subject to the investigation stated: “There is a very serious preparation for provocation in the country. Pelikanists have been active for the last 3 days, and they stepped up after the Konya massacre. The Justice and Development Party (AKP) is losing blood. A new June 7- November 1 period may have started. Everyone should be very careful.” and “Journalists in the country can only ask questions to People’s Democratic Party (HDP) members.”
