Batman Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation against 13 people, who danced a folk dance to Şiwan Perver’s song “Serhildan Jiyane” (to live is to revolt), which was played from the stage during the People’s Democratic Party (HDP) rally on August 14. Those facing an investigation are charged with “making illegal organisation propaganda” and were summoned to the Batman Anti-Terror Unit to testify. The Prosecutor’s Office argued that the song “contains a number of organisational expressions.”
