The third hearing of the trial in which Ekrem İmamoğlu is accused of attempting to influence the judiciary by mentioning the name of an expert witness at a press conference he held in Saraçhane was held in Istanbul. At the hearing, held in Courtroom No. 2 in Silivri at the Istanbul 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance, no opinion could be prepared on the merits of the case due to a change in judges and the new judge not yet taking office. The court decided to send the file to the prosecutor’s office and postpone the next hearing until March 30, 2026. Imamoğlu’s defense was heard at the hearing, and lawyer Mehmet Pehlivan’s request to act as defense counsel was rejected.
