The first hearing of the case against lawyer Osman Süzen, who served as a member of the Executive Board, deputy chairperson, and head of the Adıyaman branch of the Human Rights Association (İHD) during different periods, on charges of “membership in an organization” will be held on December 18, 2025, at the Adıyaman 2nd Heavy Penal Court. The indictment alleges that Süzen participated in meetings, marches, press statements, and human rights events on behalf of the IHD between 2013 and 2015. The IHD stated that all of the activities in the case file were legitimate and public human rights work, describing the case as judicial harassment of human rights defenders and demanding Süzen’s acquittal.
