Burhan Z., who shared footage on social media mocking citizens observing a moment of silence in İncirliova district of Aydın on the anniversary of Atatürk’s death, was taken into custody.
Burhan Z., who drew criticism after the footage spread, was sentenced to house arrest by the court on charges of “inciting the public to hatred and hostility.” He was also fined 20,000 TL for riding a motorcycle on the road and filming with his cell phone.
