The press statement to be held by the People’s Democratic Party (HDP) MPs, Batman Co-Mayors and HDP Youth Assembly members in ancient city Hasankeyf, which will soon remain under water due to the Ilısu Dam, was banned. The protesters then wanted to march from Hasankeyf to Batman and were prevented by the Gendarmerie. 15 HDP MPs were beaten, insulted and detained.
