People’s Democratic Party (HDP) Esenyurt District Co-Chairs Ercan Sağlam and Dilan Kılıç have been detained after the raid at the District Organisation building due to posters of Abdullah Öcalan being hung there. Sağlam and Kılıç were taken to the court six days later. Charged with “illegal organisation membership”, Kılıç was released on the condition of judicial measures but Sağlam was arrested. Lawyer Müslüm Kocaoğlu stated, “They were released after testifying when they were detained. Afterwards, the visuals of the district organisation building were brought to the agenda through social media. Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu made targeting posts and another warrant was issued… An arrest warrant was issued due to ‘heavy criminal suspect’ based on nonexistent evidence. There is not one concrete evidence. Sağlam was arrested only because he was targeted.”
