Furkan Bölükbaşı, known for his affiliation with the AKP, was arrested on charges of “assassination and physical attack against the President” for a comment he made on his social media account, quoting a post directed at President Erdoğan.
In his post, Bölükbaşı wrote, “Menderes’s sweet talk to Kemalism brought about his end. Hopefully, the current Muslim government will get its act together before suffering the same fate.” After the backlash, Bölükbaşı deleted the post and later published a statement defending Erdoğan.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office launched an investigation into the post. Bölükbaşı was arrested by the Criminal Court of Peace and sent to prison. Meanwhile, access to Grok’s X account was blocked on “national security” grounds.
