Former national soccer player Yusuf Atay was arrested on charges of “membership in the armed terrorist organization ISIS” due to his social media posts and images of weapons on his phone. It was determined that Atay had quoted Al Qaeda’s September 11 attacks in the US as “a work of art” and used threatening language related to Sharia law. Atay claimed that some of his searches were for address information related to the Gaza protests.
