Reporter Elif Akkuş, who was reinstated to her position for the second time by court order, was dismissed from TRT for the third time. An investigation was launched against Akkuş in 2024 on the grounds that she had not come to work for 168 days in 2022, and her employment contract was terminated. It was also alleged that Akkuş had made posts on an anonymous social media account claiming that favoritism was being practiced within the institution. Akkuş took these actions to court and won reinstatement in two separate cases. Despite this, TRT management expelled her for the third time following the court rulings. Akkuş’s lawyer, Hüseyin Ersöz, stated that the decision was intended to circumvent the court rulings and that a new case would be filed in the administrative court.
