The effective investigation application made by the family of Agos Daily’s assassinated Editor-In-Chief Hrant Dink at the Constitutional Court was denied due to the lack of exhaustion of remedies. The Dink Family had carried the verdict of non-prosecution for 24 people, including Ergenekon Case defendant retired Brigadier General Veli Küçük, Kemal Kerinçsiz, former Deputy Istanbul Governor Ergun Güngör and retired Turkish National Intelligence Officer Özel Yılmaz, to the Constitutional Court in 2016. The application wasn’t concluded for the last three years. Ministry of Justice declared an opinion in June on the matter, requesting the consideration of a verdict by Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, that ordered an additional non-prosecution for certain public officers and civilians.
