During the detention review in the case known as the “Aziz İhsan Aktaş” or “Beşiktaş Investigation”, CHP’s Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat, Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer, Avcılar Mayor Utku Caner Çaykara, Seyhan Mayor Oya Tekin, Ceyhan Mayor Kadir Aydar and Adana Metropolitan Mayor Zeydan Karalar were ordered to remain in detention. Lawyer Hüseyin Ersöz stated that the decision was intended to “buy time for the court” before the indictment is prepared. CHP PM Member Baki Aydöner and Gaziosmanpaşa Mayor Hakan Behçetepe were not present at the detention review.
