Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Batuhan Mumcu said that some of the content published on Spotify is against religious and national values and that a judicial process should be initiated.

In a statement on social media, Mumcu said that the platform did not observe sensitivities despite all previous warnings, and that provocative content against the Prophet Muhammad and Emine Erdoğan is still available.

“Content that insults the beliefs of our society has not been corrected in any way, and discrimination against our artists has been ignored. This is now a legal matter.”

Calling for a judicial process to be initiated, Mumcu emphasized that he would follow the issue and that his struggle against attitudes against Turkey’s cultural and spiritual values would continue.
