DEM Party Şırnak MP Nevroz Uysal Aslan stated that disciplinary penalties given to prisoners in Erzincan Prison have turned into “a means of prolonging execution”.
Aslan stated that prisoners were punished for objecting to the “degrading search” practice and that the cancellation decisions of the Erzincan Execution Judgeship were ignored.
“These investigations are being used to arbitrarily remove good behavior status and delay conditional release,” Aslan said, adding that they have applied to the Human Rights Inquiry Commission and submitted a parliamentary question to the Minister of Justice.
“This is not just a matter of a convict’s right, it is a matter of protecting the de facto validity of judicial decisions,” Aslan said.
