Ankara 3rd Civil Court of First Instance rejected the request for the annulment of the CHP’s Istanbul Provincial Ordinary Congress held on October 8, 2023.
In addition, the request for the annulment of the CHP’s 38th Ordinary Congress held on November 4-5, 2023, which was merged with this case, was also rejected due to the lack of a cause of action on the grounds that “the same case has been filed before and is still pending”.
The court also rejected the plaintiffs’ requests for the criminal case to be a matter of waiting and for witnesses to be heard. It was stated that the decision is open for appeal and the parties can apply to the Ankara Regional Court of Appeals within 2 weeks.
CHP Group Deputy Chair Ali Mahir Başarır said in a statement following the decision: “In this case, the dismissal of the CHP Istanbul Provincial Administration and the appointment of a trustee have been rendered futile. This disgrace must be eliminated immediately,” he said.
