On the morning of October 18, construction equipment entered the lands in Hatay’s Samandağ district, which were subjected to a decision of expropriation for TOKİ projects and the court process is ongoing. Residents of the region reacted to the intervention before the court process was completed. Citizens living in Kurtdere and the surrounding neighborhoods stated that they continued their watch protests to protect their deeded lands. Neighborhood residents announced that construction work continues despite a request for a stay of execution.
