The Constitutional Court (AYM) found the state guilty in the case of Mehmet Zeki Yılmaz’s murder. Yılmaz was murdered in Yüksekova, Hakkari 24 years ago and his murder was unresolved due to lack of evidence. The bullets were sent for ballistic examination 19 years later than the incident, hence the bullets were oxidized, leading to the verdict on lack of evidence. The Constitutional Court issued that the investigation was conducted inattentively and found the state guilty of violating the right to life; sentencing 27 thousand TLs of moral compensation to be paid to the Yılmaz family.
