The Constitutional Court (AYM) decided for the right to life of teacher Melih Dalbudak to have been violated, both procedurally and materially, when Dalbudak was wounded in the head with a tear gas shell during the Gezi Park protests. The right to life is protected by Article 17 of the Turkish Constitution. At that time, an investigation against the police officers was not permitted due to “insufficient information and documentation”; therefore the Constitutional Court issued for another investigation to be opened. Furthermore, 10 thousand TL moral indemnity will be paid to Dalbudak.
