The Constitutional Court sentenced for 40 thousand Turkish Liras of compensation to be paid to journalist Hakan Aygün, who was arrested in remand due to his criticism against the donation call of the government for the citizens during the pandemic. The court indicated that Aygün’s personal freedom and safety were violated. Hakan Aygün had been detained on April 2nd due to “public incitement towards resentment and hostility,” “denigration” and “insult”; arrested on April 3rd, sent to prison and was released on May 5th.
