The Constitutional Court denied the application made for the prosecution of those committing crimes in the operation conducted in Cizre in 2015 during the curfews, which resulted in the deaths of 288 people. The curfew declared in Cizre on December 14, 2015 lasted for 79 days and 11 neighborhoods in the district, with 131 thousand residents, were completely shut down from entrances and exits. With tanks placed in high altitudes of the province, Cudi, Nur, Sur and Yafes neighborhoods were shot with cannons. During the curfew, many of those who were wounded died because they couldn’t be hospitalised and no ambulances could take them. 177 of them were killed in basements of the houses they took shelter in, on February 7, 2016. The reports on the incident have indicated that the people who have died in the basements were first killed with firearms, then were burned. There is still no information on where the dead bodies of 14 people, who died in those basements, are.
