Dicle News Agency (DİHA) reporter Mehmet Güleş, who was sentenced to 9 years, 4 months and 15 days in prison on charges of “terrorist organization membership” and “making propaganda for a terrorist organization” for his news and social media posts and also remained under arrest for 6 years and 3 months in prison as part of the file. In his application at the Constitutional Court, the court ruled that “his freedom of expression was not violated.” The Supreme Court further argued that there was no interference with the fundamental rights and freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution during the trial.
