The Kütahya 3rd Criminal Court of First Instance sentenced conscientious objector İnan Mayıs Aru to three months in prison on December 19. The court stated that Aru had failed to complete his military service between April 30 and June 16, 2025, and had not submitted a letter of excuse. The panel did not apply a good behavior reduction, citing his previous convictions, and rejected requests to postpone the announcement of the verdict and to defer the sentence. Aru’s lawyer announced that they would appeal the decision.
