A complaint was filed with the prosecutor’s office against actress and singer Hülya Avşar and YouTuber Merve Taşkın on allegations of “encouraging prostitution” and “obscenity.” The complaint stated that the pair produced content that was derogatory to the public, glorified crime, and was obscene. The complaint alleged that Taşkın’s statements on Avşar’s program portrayed prostitution as a quick way to make money and a means of accessing a luxurious lifestyle, thereby shaping the perception of viewers. It was also stated that Hülya Avşar supported Taşkın with laudatory remarks. The complaint requested that access to the relevant video be blocked. Merve Taşkın is also facing a separate case for obscenity due to a post she made on Valentine’s Day stating that she could “accompany someone for 400,000 TL,” with a sentence of up to 5 years and 3 months in prison being sought.
