DEM Party Amed MP Ceylan Akça Cupolo brought the fine imposed on Amedspor’s Kurdish jersey and the “imposition of one language” at TED Diyarbakır College to the agenda of the Parliament. Cupolo submitted parliamentary questions to Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak and Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin. The motion emphasized that prohibitive practices against the visibility of Kurdish in the public sphere harm social peace and that the recognition of the mother tongue is the basis of a democratic social order.
