14 young people who were arrested for “insulting the President” during the protests organized in Saraçhane in support of Ekrem İmamoğlu were released during the hearing held in Silivri. In the trial of 16 defendants, all of the arrested youth were released after the defenses were taken. The Parents Solidarity Network, which had been following the case, announced the release to the public. Hundreds of thousands of people gathered in the Saraçhane protests that started after the detentions on March 19, and 189 people were arrested. These trials have become an important test against the criminalization of youth exercising their democratic rights.
