Parts of a letter in which Grup Yorum worker Cem Dursun described conditions at Marmara No. 6 L-Type Closed Prison and which he wanted to send to Bianet were censored by the Prison Letter Reading Commission. On the 148th day of his hunger strike, Dursun said they were unable to use common living areas or the exercise yard and were being held in cell-like conditions. The letter said five prisoners on hunger strike suffered health problems including muscle and joint pain and loss of balance. The prisoners demanded equal access to common areas and the exercise yard with other detainees.
